Leadership Montrose (formerly UVLP-Uncompahgre Valley Leadership Program) was established in 1996, to increase the knowledge and interest for leadership in our community.  Participants are exposed to a wide variety of topics of concern to our community, including agriculture, state and local government, business, law enforcement, arts, youth issues and much more.  All citizens of the community are encouraged to apply.

Class of 2012

Interested parties may pick up applications at the Montrose Chamber of Commerce or download the 2014 - 2015 application.

The program is funded by the Montrose Chamber of Commerce, contributions from the business community, and by tuition of $500 from each participant. This tuition covers all meals and expenses for all local sessions and lodging for the two-day Denver trip (shared room). Tuition may be paid by the individual, an employer, or a sponsoring organization. Partial financial aid may be available to persons not otherwise able to provide the full tuition.
Class size is limited; please submit your applications early.  The application deadline for the 2014 - 2015 program is August 6, 2014.

The Leadership Montrose Program requires a commitment of time and energy.  Class participants are required to attend all of the sessions.

Participants for each year’s class will be selected from those individuals who have submitted their completed application forms.  The Leadership Selection Committee will seek to identify those who are most likely to utilize their leadership abilities for the long-term benefit of our area, with an eye toward diversity, so that there is a broad representation from a variety of occupational, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, geographic areas and community interest.
